How to solve two-step equations.

01Undoing in the wrong order

Students often divide before subtracting, which scatters the numbers. Study Butler frames it as unwrapping a package, last thing done is the first thing undone, so the order makes sense rather than being memorized.

02Only changing one side

Why do you subtract before you divide?
