When should you use elimination instead of substitution?
Use elimination when the equations are both in standard form and the coefficients are easy to match. Use substitution when one variable is already isolated. Study Butler helps your kid spot which situation they are in.
What does it mean if a system has no solution?
It means the two lines are parallel and never meet, which shows up as a false statement like 0 = 5 during the work. The butler treats that as information about the lines, not a mistake.
